USC mHealth Collaboratory
Mobile health (mHealth) technologies are ubiquitous, interactive and poised to improve the health and well being of people around the globe. Across USC, and with our partners at other institutions, we are fueling a revolution in mobile and connected health.
The USC mHealth Collaboratory has emerged at an historic nexus, where academia, industry, designers and users are joining forces to push the boundaries of transdisciplinary science to develop personalized, adaptive health promotion, disease prevention and patient-centered care “just in time” — in the context and at the moment that can make the most impact. mHealth offers accessible, informed and responsive prevention and treatment modalities, with unprecedented capacities to reach the underserved.
This collaboratory unites schools, faculty and students across USC and beyond. We’re a forum, a showcase, an incubator where researchers, designers, students, industry and IT can collaborate to dream big.

About UsThe USC mHealth Collaboratory brings together researchers and partners from across USC and beyond to lead advances in research, well-being and health care through mobile strategies.
We are, above all, transdisciplinary. We need members across the spectrum — social scientists, engineers, economists, physicians, psychologists, filmmakers, storytellers, digital designers, information technology experts. We are linked by a common goal: to harness and develop the most astonishing and useful mobile and connected technologies to improve health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs. |
Our goalsOur primary goal: to foster new research and thinking. To that end, we:
• provide training in transdisciplinary teamwork • test innovative technologies that support patient-centered care • redesign static programs for mobile platforms • support junior faculty in mHealth research • explore new platforms to share real-time measurements • offer an invaluable meeting ground to share novel ideas In addition to sponsoring seminars and other events, we are working to establish a California-wide mHealth Consortium.
